The problem

On close inspection, the ridge and hip lines told the real story. Mortar bedding had cracked and lifted in long sections, leaving open joints for water to track straight into the roof structure. The solution

  1. Ridge repair. Loose and cracked cement was raked out of every ridge and hip, then re-filled and re-bedded with fibre cement to restore a sound, level line.
  2. Prep and prime. Rebuilt ridges and repair areas were primed with Penetrar to lock down the substrate and give the waterproofing a solid key.
  3. Ridge waterproofing. A reinforced StretchSeal membrane system was applied along the full length of the ridges and hips, bridging joints and sealing cracked and delaminated sections against water ingress.
  4. Clean and wash. The entire roof was high-pressure washed by hand and machine to strip dirt, chalk and failed coating back to a clean, sound surface.
  5. Waterproof top coat and paint. The roof was sealed with HydroSeal HF and finished in two coats of a high-quality roof paint for lasting UV and weather resistance.

The result

The difference is immediate: a tired, patchy roof becomes a uniform, freshly coated surface, with every ridge and flashing detail sealed under a continuous waterproofing membrane.
